Sleep awareness week: addressing the problem of tired teenagers

With thousands of Year 12 students now deep into preparation mode for the HSC, it’s to be expected that stress levels are high as they trade much-needed sleep for valuable study time.

However, during this Sleep Awareness Week (1-7 October), the Council of Catholic School Parents (CCSP) says that in this technologically-driven world, sleep deprivation is one aspect of teen wellbeing that’s causing serious concern, and it’s not isolated to times of high stress, such as exams.
